It is in the Svarthammaren protected area, Svarthamaren is a nunatak about 100 kilometres east of Troll Station, in Dronning Maud Land.

Antarctic Special Protecd Area. Largest colony of Antarctic petrels. Nunatak.

Station since 1993.

Mainly biology / bird studies. Svarthamaren houses the largest colony of Antarctic petrels.
